Blogging Tactics: How to Keep Your Blog Fresh

There is a point in in every bloggers life when they may feel uninspired or unmotivated. Or perhaps they may feel as though they’ve exhausted all possible blog topics. It is important to maintain composure during these moments, take a step back, and reevaluate the situation; sometimes you need to pause and hit the refresh button before moving forward. There are a number of strategies to combat these common slumps, so dont fret!

  1. Expand on previous posts. Sometimes, simply going back over an older post and writing down possible topics that branch from it will provide you with hundreds of new ideas for future blogging. Set aside time each week to map out what exactly you will be blogging about in the next month, and be sure to use diagrams, as they can help you visualize and uncover even more possibilities.
  2. Take reader comments into consideration. Readers are an invaluable source of information when it comes to blogging. Their comments and questions can be direct sources of ideas for future blog topics. If, after scouring through readers comments, you still dont find an idea, reach out to your readers; ask them to ask questions! See what intrigues them and motivates them to read your blog in the first place.
  3. Experiment with different writing styles. Are you a how-to blog writer out of ideas for blogs” Try varying your syntax. Write a review for a product relevant to your business. Write a blog stating your opinion on the latest trends and developments in your industry. By varying your style, you can open a whole new world of topics that will be more enjoyable to write about.
  4. Update previous blogs or articles. Remember your reader base is constantly growing with new readers every day. Updating and then reposting old blogs is a viable option, since it is likely new readers have never read the previous blogs before. If you choose to do this, however, you need to make sure that you are actually updating the original post and adding something new.
  5. Hire writers. Hiring a team of writers, if done correctly, will increase the quantity and quality of your blog posts, while taking a huge load off your shoulder. Browse through your current reader base and assess which ones would be interested in a financial reward for writing.

The surface has barely been touched on ways you can keep blog content fresh and interesting. With a little brainstorming, you can easily come up with a variety of ways to improve your blogs and keep readers coming back.
